Along the Old Racetrack

The Country Club of Salisbury was first imagined in 1919 when six tomato cans were used as cups on a six-hole golf course along the old racetrack and fairgrounds off Brenner Avenue. That started the golfing bug in Salisbury. In 1920, The Country Club of Salisbury on its current site became a reality. It stands out as one of the lone private country clubs in the Salisbury area.

Country Club of Salisbury members enjoy a beautiful tennis facility for any level of play. There are six immaculately maintained courts: three clay and three hard courts, all lit for cooler night play. With our expert staff and facilities, Country Club of Salisbury members of all ages and capabilities are exceptionally well-positioned to elevate and enjoy their tennis games. The Tennis facility contains viewing decks, bleachers, a gazebo, and a state of the art ball machine for member use. The Pro Shop is stocked with racquets, tennis equipment, and offers services such as racquet-stringing and re-gripping. Our tennis professional offers expert, individualized, or group, instruction for every level of player.

The Country Club of Salisbury features one of the area’s best tests of golf. Originally designed and laid out by Donald Ross, players of all levels enjoy this timeless classic. Members and their guests have five sets of tees to choose from depending on their skill levels.

The course ranges from 6723 to 4961 yards, and in true Donald Ross fashion, demands strategy and skill, yet is fun even for the novice player. Along with the golf course, The Country Club of Salisbury features outstanding practice facilities that include: a two-tiered driving range tee area, with an optional 18-station Turf Hound tee line. Two additional practice areas, the Bentgrass practice putting green and the imaginatively built short game area, are available to perfect all short-game shots. The Golf Shop features the latest in golf and casual wear for men and women. Our golf professionals offer individualized instruction at the highest level, including a special focus on developing the games of junior golfers.

The Country Club of Salisbury is the place to satisfy all of your dining, banquet, or meeting needs. For daily dining, there is the Grill Room, located on the lower level of the Clubhouse. The Grill Room is open Tue-Sun for lunch and Wed-Fri for dinner. The Main Dining Room is on the main floor of the Clubhouse and is open for dinner Fridays and Saturdays, for large parties by reservation. The Ballroom, Centennial Room, and Private Dining Room can all be scheduled for member use: meetings, events, or weddings. There is a space to fit any need.
