Mr. Michael Bummel has joined the Country Club of Salisbury as its General Manager. Formally the Director of Clubhouse Operations at Myers Park Country Club, he is a graduate of Johnson and Wales University and working to becoming a Certified Club Manager.
Michael began his career at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte where he worked his way through the ranks from Bus Boy to Assistant Manager. At Quail Hollow, he was fortunate have been involved in events for Presidents Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush as well as Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.
A seasoned hospitality executive with more than 25 years of experience in the club industry, Mr. Bummel holds an Associate of Science in Food and Beverage Management from Johnson & Wales University, a membership in Club Management Association of America (CMAA), Business Management Institute I, II, & III and Golf Course management certifications.
Mr. Bummel will oversee operations at the Country Club of Salisbury’s 18-hole Donald Ross golf course, dining facilities, event venues, tennis club, pool and social events. His areas of expertise include food and beverage operations, membership recruitment and staff training and development.

The course ranges from 6723 to 4961 yards, and in true Donald Ross fashion, demands strategy and skill, yet is fun even for the novice player. Along with the golf course, The Country Club of Salisbury features outstanding practice facilities that include: a two-tiered driving range tee area, with an optional 18-station Turf Hound tee line. Two additional practice areas, the Bentgrass practice putting green and the imaginatively built short game area, are available to perfect all short-game shots. The Golf Shop features the latest in golf and casual wear for men and women. Our golf professionals offer individualized instruction at the highest level, including a special focus on developing the games of junior golfers.
The Country Club of Salisbury is the place to satisfy all of your dining, banquet, or meeting needs. For daily dining, there is the Grill Room, located on the lower level of the Clubhouse. The Grill Room is open Tue-Sun for lunch and Wed-Sat for dinner. The Main Dining Room is on the main floor of the Clubhouse and is open for dinner Fridays and Saturdays. The Ballroom, Centennial Room, and Private Dining Room can all be scheduled for member use: meetings, events, or weddings. There is a space to fit any need. The Country Club of Salisbury can host events as large as three-hundred to an intimate dinner for two.
